Neil Grove

Neil GroveNeil joined DKK in 2000 achieving the rank of Shodan in 2005. He first took to the cage in 2006 with two wins in UKMMAC.

In July 2007 he burst onto the national scene with his debut in Cage Rage 22. Called up to fight with just 2 days notice against the seasoned Cage Rage and Pride fighter, James "Colossus" Thompson, he knocked Thompson out in just 10 seconds of the first round and has been a favourite on the MMA scene ever since.

Neil followed up with two more stoppages in Cage Rage before facing former heavyweight champion Rob Broughton. Neil lost by a majority decision. At Cage Rage 27, he fought in a re-match against Robert "Buzz" Berry winning decisively in the second round.

In December 2008, Neil was crowned Ultimate Challenge World Heavyweight Champion after beating James McSweeney by TKO in round two. He was subsequently called up to fight for the UFC where he faced Mike Ciesnolevicz, losing by a heel hook after sustaining broken ribs during a takedown.

Neil successfully defended his Ultimate Challenge World Heavyweight title in October 2009, defeating the Cage Gladiators, Strike & Submit, and Ultimate Force Heavyweight Champion, Martin Thompson by KO in just 53 seconds of the first round.

Neil currently fights for Bellator where, after two sub-2 minute knockouts, he fought foir the Bellator Heavyweight World Title in late 2010 but was unfortunately beaten by American wrestler, Cole Konrad.
